You should not be paying for student supplies even if you're asked to do the research for materials and to make the purchase by parents.  
It is not your responsibility to buy supplies for students. You may choose to do so if you want (especially if you are planning on using the material later for different students), but as an independent contractor, BMT cannot reimburse you for supplies you buy.


You should always keep the receipt of purchases and ask parents afterward for reimbursement unless you're planning on keeping the material for future sessions with other students.
If you need students to buy a certain book or other supplies, one of the easiest ways to do this is to send parents a link to where they can buy said supplies.
